- Pooja Sharma n pooja.sharma @htlive.com

Sai Tamhankar is currently in London, UK, for the screening of her film, Love Sonia at the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) 2018. The movie also stars Freida Pinto, Anupam Kher, and Demi Moore, and is inspired by a true story that deals with sex trafficking. Sai plays the role of a retired prostitute in the movie. Talking about the film’s screening at the festival, Sai says, “As an actor one doesn’t think about the eventual outcome. I take up a project that interests me. My role should get me excited. The reception and outcome is the cherry on top. During the filming though, I had anticipated that the film will make waves internationally, especially, with the subject and the names associated. I’m glad to be at LIFF representing Love Sonia.”

On her experience of starring with the cast, she adds, “It was an amazing experience working on the film. I had the opportunity to work with Manoj Bajpayee whom I consider to be one of our finest actors. Mr Kher, Demi, Richa, and Freida, everyone has worked hard on the film. The energy was great and the whole team was totally committed on making a great movie. I think we have achieved that.”

“I just plan to do interesting and layered characters that push me as an actor. Language has never mattered to me because an actor should not be limited by language, whether it’s Hindi, Tamil, Marathi or Telugu. I want to give my best in every film and try to make every character memorable,”

says Sai.
