‘Never fallen in love with someone so instantly’
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and wife Rukmini Sahay shared the news of the arrival of their child on September 20, and the proud father can’t stop gushing about his daughter, who they have named Nurvi Neil Mukesh.
“The moment I saw her, I was in love. I have never seen someone and fallen in love so instantly. I was so emotional, and I still am, about Nurvi. In fact, both Rukmini and Nurvi are in good health and that’s a bigger joy,” says Neil. Rukmini and Nurvi are currently at her mother’s house for 40 days as part of a family ritual.
The name, as unique as it sounds, was neither Neil nor Rukmini’s idea. “Papa (Nitin Mukesh) suggested the name. It means the blessing of Lord Ganesha. The entire family would sit down and argue over names,” he says, adding, “The day Rukmini was rushed to the hospital, Dad said he did the aarti everyday and only this name was coming to his mind.”
Now, Neil has to balance his work and family schedule. Currently, he is shooting in Alibaug for his younger brother Naman’s directorial debut. But the new dad is ready to take on any challenge when it comes to spending time with his daughter. “We have a 35day schedule in Alibaug and Rukmini told me Nurvi stays awake at night. Thankfully, I have a night schedule,” says the actor gleefully. “I can face time with both of them and since Alibaug is not too far, whenever I get a few hours off, I can go and meet her,” he adds.
