When she isn’t acting, Jacqueline Fernandez tries to take out time for various social causes, with the latest one being her visit to the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York City, USA. Apparently, the actor went there on World Animal Day (October 4) with a petition containing eight million signatures against animal testing for makeup products.
“The initiative was a part of the Forever Against Animal Testing campaign run by a brand that Jacqueline endorses. She attended a special event at UN headquarters and also addressed the audience. She is extremely happy and content to have been a part of the noble cause ,” says an insider, who is close to the actor.
The Housefull 2 (2012) actor, who spoke about her campaign in detail, tells us it was a “delightful moment” for her. “I am proud that I stood at UN on behalf of eight million people across the world, who are in support of the campaign against animal testing in cosmetics forever. This cause is extremely close to my heart and I hope that we are able to achieve what we are set out to do.”
Personally, Jacqueline has two pets and is known to be an avid animal lover. She has, time and again, expressed her love for them through various social media posts. “The actor has always maintained that beauty cannot be achieved at the cost of harming anyone, especially animals. That’s why Jackie has raised her voice against animal testing in the past too,” says the insider, adding, “Apart from animal welfare, the Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (2010) also actively backs marine conservation and tries to create awareness, through her social media handles and otherwise, in her own way.”
Workwise, Jacqueline tasted success with Remo D’Souza’s Race 3 earlier this year. She also has Tarun Mansukhani-directed Drive in her kitty that will also feature Sushant Singh Rajput. The Sri Lankan actor has also bagged the Hindi remake of Kannada film, Kirik Party, in which she will co-star with Kartik Aaryan.
