Till date, she has sung many hit songs in Bollywood such as ‘Katiya karoon’ (Rockstar; 2011), ‘Nachde ne saare’ (Baar Baar Dekho; 2016) and ‘Dilbaro’ (Raazi), among others. But Harshdeep Kaur is set to have a completely new experience now: she will open Bryan Adams’ live shows in Mumbai (October 12) and Delhi (October 14).

“I’ve grown up listening to the legendary singer (Bryan) since my school days and I’m a huge fan of his voice. So, it’s a huge honour for me to share the same stage with him. I’m really happy,” says Harshdeep, whose performance in Mumbai, as well as Delhi, is likely to be “about 45-minute long.” The singer’s performance will include many hit numbers including ‘Kabira’ (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani; 2013) ‘Channa mereya’ (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil; 2016), ‘Zaalima’ (Raees; 2017), ‘Dua’ (Shanghai; 2012), and ‘Jugniji’ (Cocktail; 2012). “I’ll be singing some of my own songs and some other popular numbers as well. I’m really looking forward to it,” she informs.

Ask her how excited she is about her new experience, and she says with a smile, “I’m quite excited. For the past few days, I’ve been preparing a special set with my band for this event. It also feels great to be representing my country’s music on such a big stage with an international artiste.” The young singer goes on to admit that she has many childhood memories of listening to Bryan’s songs. “I clearly remember learning the song, ‘Everything I do’ and performing at my school annual fest. Everyone had loved it (smiles),” she says. The Canadian singersongwriter is in India for a musical tour that kicked off in Ahmedabad and was followed by Hyderabad. His Mumbai gig will take place ahead of his performances in Bengaluru (October 13) and Delhi.
