I instantly said ‘yes’ to the project: Nivin Pauly
Malayalam superstar and actor Nivin Pauly has been part of some most unconventional films such as Bangalore Days (2014), Premam (2015), Action Hero Biju (2016), etc. The actor, who enjoys a huge fan base for his phenomenal performances, is all set to create another milestone with his recently released film Kayamkulam Kochunni.
A source close to the actor says, “Released on the eve of Nivin's birthday (October 11), the epic drama is in the news for all the right reasons. The film has already set a new record by releasing in 300 screens across Kerala, cutting close to the number of screens that the magnum opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), opened in. The advance bookings of the film has received massive positive response with fans going berserk on witnessing Nivin in a never- seen-before avatar.”
The 45 crore-budget film is also one of the most expensive ventures of Mollywood. It features Nivin in the titular role of Kayamkulam Kochunni, the famous real-life highwayman, active in central Travancore during the 19th century, and who was the local Robin Hood. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film is a modern take on Robin Hood
and is being touted as a must-watch for its grand visuals and high-end performance by Nivin.
Nivin says, “It was almost an instant ‘yes’ for me because of the sheer brilliance of the script. I liked how the writers had beautifully juxtaposed Kochunni’s well-known fierce nature with his lesser known vulnerable side. Of course, the talented team backing the project, was another reason.”
