On the occasion of the festival of lights and definitely not the festival of noise, we take a look at how fashion designers from across the country have combined the festive fervour with some fun designs and motifs. “Nothing says festivities like the delineation of intricate Indian handwork in your festive fashion, patterns that add to the spirit of Diwali,” says fashion designer Shraddha Pacheriwal.
Though the sky looks pretty with fireworks, it has affected our environment through sound and air pollution. Fashion designer Jebin Johny, who recreated the Diwali celebrations on one of his festive saris, is concerned about the ill effects of fire crackers. “Fire crackers look good, but I am concerned about its ill effects on older people and children. I believe the festival is all about getting together with the people you love,” says Johny.
