Many a time you go to a restaurant and sometimes a chair, sofa or a piece of crockery might strike your fancy. But, at no cost can you buy it as you clear your cheque. Well, that is exactly what you can do at this Pan Asian eatery— Plum By Bent Chair. The purple wall and the avant-garde art at the restaurant gives off a plush and luxurious vibe. However, since the restaurant shares its floor space with another eatery, the loud music on the other end is something you cannot avoid.

After settling for a cosy

table near the bar counter, we kick started our evening with some signature cocktails — Plum & Passion (₹575) and Smash on the Rocks (₹650). While Smash on the Rocks had a strong Tennessee honey flavour, Plum & Passion had a nice fruit punch taste with a balanced proportion of white run and vodka. For starters, we called for some sushi. The Smoked Teriyaki Chicken Uramaki (₹800) which was stuffed with chunks of chicken, little pieces of avocado and scallion, was a perfect start with their signature Teriyaki sauce.

The next small bite we called for was the Plum Golden Fish Steak (₹585). Though the lavish pieces of River Sole fish clearly melts in your mouth, this dish is not for someone who does not prefer a sweet sauce-heavy fish steak on their plate. From a dish that was a b towards the sweeter side, we went for the Spicy Barbecued Chicken Bao (₹595). Served hot, the spicy stuffing is made with chicken, crispy scallio and garlic flakes.

For anyone who loves dim sums, this restaurant a plethora of options for vegetarians and nonvegetarians alike. We ordered Chicken and Prawns Shumai (₹525), which was a disappointment in terms of the quantity. A total of four iny pieces of dim sums were erved steaming hot. For the main course, we called for Fermented Garlic Oil Chicken (₹495) and Butter Garlic Black Rice (₹455). The black rice was tossed with some pan fried garlic and crispy scallions. The gravy that had lavish chunks of sliced chicken tenders had a strong flavour of the oyster sauce added.

It was a disappointment to see that the restaurant has just two options in the dessert section. However, they also offer a choice of ordering desserts from their neighbouring restaurant. To end the experience, we ordered the Plum Tropical Fruit Citrus Cheesecake (₹550). Even though we were warned that the scoop of cake would be citrusy, the scoop we were served came with small chunks of fruits and was exactly what we were hoping for.
