Disco divas dancing away to style and oomph
Metallics — be it in the gorgeous lamé fabric or sequins or holographic material — show no signs of fading out either on the red carpet or the airport lounges. To illustrate the point, we have actor Deepika Padukone who made quite a statement teaming up a white top with a pair of disco pants, recently. And actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas looked chic and cheerful with husband, actor Nick Jonas, as she dazzled in a pale shine-on maxi dress. Then there is actor Ananya Panday offsetting her sparkly skirt with a black off-shoulder top and actor Huma Qureshi, who picked a sheen-heavy romper at a magazine event. Nothing beats the transformative power of a glam rock outfit for a night on the tiles. While everyone would want to pull off these statement separates, it could
be a tricky business. But, we have your back! Worry not. Designer Diya Arora suggests, “Pair a metallic skirt with a white or beige top for a day/brunch outfit. Nude, pastels and shades of ivory complement metallics pieces well. Club a shine-on jacket with washed denims and a white T-shirt. For an evening outing, invest in a metallic dress with deeper tone and layer it with a neutral blazer or a bomber jacket. Black, navy blue, olive green can work well with a disco skirt or shorts as well to amp up your style for the night.” Designer Kinnary Panchamia observes, “For brunch, pair metallic pants with a crisp white tailored shirt, partially tucked and complete this look with a nifty pair of wedges or pointy toe flats or white sneakers. For after dark hours, wear a metallic slip dress and pair it with a smart, wellfitted black blazer and sleek black heels and you’re good to go!” And there is plenty to choose from — From textured leather souvenir jackets to slip dresses, from metallic pants to plissé skirts.
