After her debut film Love Sonia (2018) was applauded by critics for its gritty subject, Mrunal Thakur’s second film, Super 30 with Hrithik Roshan has also fared well at the box office. Mrunal is now hoping for a hat-trick of success as she starts promoting her next film, Batla House with John Abraham. Coincidentally, Mrunal kicks off the films

promotions today — which happens to coincide with her birthday. But the actor has no qualms about working on her birthday. “August 1 happens to be the first day of Batla House promotions. However, I’m very happy to be working on my birthday because I feel like it’s very important to do what you love [on your birthday]. And I love working. So, I’m glad I’m going to spend my birthday doing something I love. I am with the entire team in Delhi and this is the first time I’m spending my birthday in the Capital as well,” says Mrunal. Usually, the actor spends her birthday with her parents and says she is “a little sad about not being able to be with them” this time. But it was enough consolation that she spent her birthday eve with them. “There are no plans as such. Ideally my birthdays are spent with family. I usually wake up to my parents wishing me. My cousins and my extended family also come over and this is one day everyone would get together. I like to be home. I hate throwing parties and the last thing you’ll ever hear is that I threw a party. I don’t really enjoy parties. I’d rather call some of my friends home and have a simple, home cooked meal and spend some quality time with them,” she says. This time however, Mrunal does intend to do something different. Her experience of working in Love Sonia changed her as a person and now she wants to give back to society. Talking about it, she says, “There is something that I’ve been thinking about. I’m trying to come up with a campaign where I can do something for the underprivileged kids. Instead of spending so much money on dinners or parties, if I can raise money to sponsor the education of a couple of children, I will be really happy. That’s my aim and I am working towards that.”
