Life has been nothing short of a fairytale for US-based singer Simantinee Roy, who recently released her first single titled Tere Saath. Composed by Dev Sen, the song has already garnered more than 2 million views on YouTube and is ranked at number nine on iTunes Indian Pop Chart. Speaking

about the song, Simantinee says, “It is a Hindi-Punjabi romantic song that is upbeat, groovy and melodious. The music video and the song tells the story of an aspiring singer, who is waiting for her Mr Right to arrive, and when she finally sees him, she is awed by his presence and looks.”

Simantinee, who is a cancer survivor started taking vocal lessons at the age of nine. After all the ups and downs in her life, ask her how these experiences have helped her evolve as an artiste, and she says, “The experiences in my life have made me who I am today. Throughout my years of existence, I have been through highs and lows. The ups gave me the required boost, confidence and the ability to express myself. It taught me how to focus on what I have done so far. Whereas, the lows have showed me how to face things boldly in life.”

The US-based singer, who calls her elder sister, Ujjali Roy, her role model, says that she has quite a few projects in the pipeline. “The projects that I am working on currently, and the way they are shaping up, everything is looking promising. I cannot share much details, but hopefully soon, I’ll be able to give a glimpse of what I am doing,” she signs off.
