Strong women lift each other up, says Sonam
I’m lucky to be surrounded by a set of strong women, and with this event, I hope to encourage that sisterhood.

Sonam K Ahuja has always been one of those actors who has voiced her opinion on important issues. In her latest endeavour, the actor will be speaking at a women’s club in London, UK, on August 5. After marrying her long-time London-based boyfriend, Anand S Ahuja, Sonam has been shuttling between London and Mumbai.
A source close to the actor reveals, “Sonam is currently in London and when she got this opportunity to attend an evening in the company of inspirational women, she was more than happy to be part of it. She will be at the Jamavar Women’s Club where she will share her experience of being an actor. The evening will see inspirational women from an array of backgrounds to celebrate their diverse talents.”
Sonam, who is known to have a vociferous voice when it comes to talking about women empowerment says, “Strong women lift each other up. I’m lucky to be surrounded by a set of strong women, and with this event, I hope to encourage that sisterhood. Women, can make it big in a man’s world only if we motivate each other through empowering initiatives like these which is a place to learn from our mistakes and celebrate our achievements”, she says.
In fact, Sonam adds that even as an actor, she has
always emphasised on taking up roles that make a difference. She says, “As an actor, my aim was always to make a difference. We need to be the change we want to see. We must talk about sociallyrelevant subjects and tackle issues that need to be addressed. I’m fortunate to be at a stage in my career where I can choose to be part of such films and I’m lucky that they have been received so well.”
