Ayushmann, the new-age star

The Ayushmann Khurranast­arrer Dream Girl is already making the right noises across the nation with its trailer and chartbusti­ng music. And after delivering five back-to-back hits, the National Award-winning actor is definitely on his way to be declared the new-age star for family entertaine­rs. Be it with unusual stories, or movies set in small towns to portrayals that are highly relatable, Ayushmann is widening his audience base in some never-seen-before roles.

In fact, the actor, who has had a phenomenal run so far, is credited with leading Indian cinema into a new direction with his interestin­g choice of subjects. Moreover, he has been able to redefine the terms of a commercial box office success with his range of unconventi­onal roles.

In fact, director Raaj Shaandilya­a has already declared Ayushmann the ‘superstar of family entertaine­rs’. “He has carved a unique path for himself. His fan base ranges from kids to the older generation and everyone across different age

groups. They admire his acting, choices and simplicity. And the love he has received in the past few films proves that he is the true blue superstar of family entertaine­rs,” he says.

And after showing his acting prowess in his previous films, Ayushmann is gearing up for another family entertaine­r. Dream Girl will see Ayushmann play the role of ‘Pooja’ — the first male caller at an adult friendship call centre — who impresses everyone with his mesmerisin­g female voice and unique ways of solving people’s problems.

Dream Girl will also see Ayushmann star alongside Nushrat Bharucha for the first time. Besides, the movie has a power-packed ensemble cast consisting of Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, Nidhi Bisht, Abhishek Banerjee, Raj Bhansali and Rajesh Sharma.

Dream Girl is directed by Raaj Shaandilya­a and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. Dream Girl is all set to release on September 13.
