My husband was a victim of casteism, says Rajni Singh

-

Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who featured in the film, P Se Pyaar F Se Farraar, got killed in mob violence just after two months of completion of the film. Raising her voice against casteism and intercaste marriage, Rajni Singh, his wife, says, “We had an inter-caste love marriage. We both were from different upper castes but still, we struggled a lot to get married. I am happy that this film is based on the subject of honour killing. I think it is high time that people should start taking this issue very seriously.”

Talking about her husband she says, “He was a very religious person but at the same time, he never believed in caste. For him, every caste was equal. During his posting days in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, he used to start his day by going to go Bankey Bihari temple. He always believed in humanity more than castes.”

She further adds, “People usually say that police officers are very harsh and cruel but he was a very softhearted man. Even Bhavesh, who plays the lead role in the film, said in the scene where Subodh ji had to beat him, he wasn’t able to hit him, inspite of knowing the fact he has to just act. Yes, he was cruel but only towards criminals. But for family or other people, he was very calm and composed.”

P Se Pyaar F Se Farraar is not just a film but the voice of a revolution. It doesn’t focus only on the parameter of honour killing but has covered all the issues that society has been in the grip of. The film also features actors such as Jimmy Shergill, Sanjay Mishra, Kumud Mishra, Girish Kulkarni and Zakir Hussain. The movie is helmed by Manoj Tiwari and is slated to release on October 18, 2019.
