Sonu Sood’s trip down memory lane

- Titas Chowdhury

Despite graduating many summers back, Sonu Sood has not forgotten his carefree days of college. An alumnus of Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur, Sonu recently made a quick trip to his college in the city and needless to say, it left him emotional.

The actor was in Nagpur for work commitments but took some time off to meet his teachers. Upon hearing that the actor was visiting the institution, many students came running to see him and click pictures. Sonu, who back in the day was an electrical engineering student himself, was happy to meet them. He also met his former professors, who were very happy to see him.

Sonu admits he was immediately gripped by nostalgia. “I met so many people,” shares Sonu. He goes on to say, “I went to my electronics building and met my head of department and electronics teacher. His name is Mr Pawar. He had tears in his eyes and said that I am still the same and that he remembered me from my college days. I met the peons, the management guys, the office boys and we all had lunch.” He adds, “It was a very emotional moment for me. I also visited the canteen. Lots of things had changed; new buildings have been erected but my electronics buildings remained the same. The professors were the same and that made the whole experience very special. I would love to go there again, may be for an alumni meet.”

He also elaborates on a rather special memory from back in the day. “There was a samosa tapri called Khan Tapri outside my college. When he saw me, he came running and hugged me. I felt so nice because we used to spend hours there. That was one of the most special moments for me,” adds Sonu, who was seen in films such Dabangg (2010), R... Rajkumar (2013) and Simmba (2018).
