Angad Bedi believes that a uniform that comes with a badge of honour, also has its fair share of responsibilities. And every time he dons a uniform for a project, he makes sure that he does it with sheer diligence. A source says, “A person in uniform rides heavy on emotions, and Angad is aware of that because that’s the nature of their job. They invest time, energy and even their lives in their jobs. He, thus, knows that he cannot falter at depicting them in an honest way.”

Having played a tough army man in the Salman Khanstarrer Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), he’ll be seen in a similar avatar in Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl, that releases next year. “Even in Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl, my character needed both the vulnerability and force of an army man, and I tried to bring both in equal measures. I’m particularly attracted to roles of men in uniform because representing their valour on screen is necessary to inspire millions in this country,” Angad elaborates.

Talking about donning a different kind of ‘uniform’ when he wore a jersey of the Indian cricket team for The Zoya Factor, and the second season of his popular web series, he says, “I tread the character of any man in uniform with great care. My character in Inside Edge is modelled on a few great sportsmen we know and admire. It was important to do this with utmost sincerity and dedication. I wanted their grit, but I don’t think their portrayal needs the exaggeration that often accompanies cricket stories. For me, the key will be to ensure that I’m real to their depiction. I want to reflect their courage in the purest way possible and be devoted to the character I’m playing.”
