This New Year’s Eve is going to be all about family and quietude for Sharad Kelkar. The actor has flown to Portugal with his wife, Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar, and daughter to ring in 2020. “I’m in Portugal right now and I am having a great time with my wife and daughter, Kesha. I have always believed in ushering in the New Year in peace and I intend to do the same this year, too,” says Sharad.

Ask him about his favourite way of celebrating new year and he shares, “Every year is special when spent with family and friends. I’m a very homely person, so I like to keep things low-key. A silent dinner with loved ones is any day more important for me than a loud New Year’s Eve bash.”

So what’s going to be his resolution for New Year? “I think I immersed myself in work this year. So, my resolution would be to continue with the hard work, but at the same time, spend more time with my daughter. She is growing up and I don’t want to miss out on any aspect of her growing up years,” says the actor, who embraced fatherhood about five years ago.

2019 was a rather satisfying year for Sharad, who dabbled in both films and the web space. Fondly looking back at the year, he says, “It was a great year, workwise. I grew as an artiste, thanks to the diverse roles I got to portray. From a simple role in The Family Man, to playing a mafia in Rangbaaz

Phirse, I got to test myself on many levels. So 2019 was a learning year for me.”

Now, he’s happy to have his hands full as he steps into a new decade. “My next year starts with a big project, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, so I’m extremely excited about it. I’m also shooting for the second season of The Family Man and there are a couple of web shows. There are also three Bollywood releases. So, I’m very enthusiastic about 2020,” he concludes.
