‘I feel better as well as stronger than ever’

- Titas Chowdhury

Aahana Kumra had a chock-a-block 2019. She was flying in and out of India for most of the year as she was shooting in Uzbekistan and London, UK. But she returned to Mumbai to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the company of family and close friends. “The last few months have been very hectic and so, I just sat at home and had some wine with my school and college friends. I called it a night at 12 o’clock, wished everybody, and went to bed in my pyjamas,” says the actor.

Aahana hasn’t forgotten her days in Lucknow and how she used to celebrate New Year’s in the city of nawabs. “I’ve had some of the best New Year’s celebrations in Lucknow. We had our own gardens and big houses, where we would ring in the new year with family and friends and enjoy home-cooked meals,” she reminisces.

She’s “extremely grateful” for the way her career and personal life shaped up in 2019, and she’s stepping into 2020 full of optimism. “2019 was a great year for actors, collaborators and content makers. It brought in a lot of respect, money, dignity, success, and a lot of ups for many. Last year was a milestone for my family and my career as well. As I enter 2020, I feel better as well as stronger than ever before. I know what I want to do.

I have a lot more clarity, workwise, and about the people I want to collaborate with,” says an excited Aahana.

Ask her about her resolution for the new year, and the Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017) actor says,

“It would be to work a hundred times harder than what I’ve worked, be happy, and spend more time with my family.”
