“Sharing screen space with a megastar is such a great feeling,” says Gautam Gulati about returning to the public eye in a

Looking back at the last two years of his life, Gautam Gulati says that it was a phase that left him disappointed and upset. After Bigg Boss, the actor went on to sign six films but most of them failed to see the light of day. “Out of six, three films were for Ekta Kapoor, Azhar (2016) being one of them. But the length of my role in that film was trimmed. Its release got delayed by one-and-a-half years. The other two films that I had with her didn’t take off. I wasted about twoand-a-half years waiting for them to begin. My fans were expecting so much from me but I had nothing to give them,” shares Gautam.

He reveals that money has never been a priority for him. He elaborates, “I started saying no to appearances. I stopped telling my manager about it as I was scared that he would tell my family that I’m refusing the money. I was also being offered one reality show, after the other, but I wasn’t a fan of them. They offered me good money but I wasn’t being able to pursue my passion and that took a toll on me. I felt lost for about two years. I began focusing on my business but I kept trying my luck at the movies.”

Gautam, who’s all set to return to the public eye with Salman Khan-starrer, Radhe, says that he finally feels at ease. “I would get at least a crore as part of my signing amount. But what’s the point of doing a film that doesn’t assure you its release? But I know for a fact that Radhe will see a wide release. Sharing screen space with a megastar is such a great feeling. Everyone knows that it’s going to be a hit at the box office. I suddenly feel like there’s no stress in life. I’m as happy as a child,” he says.

Talking about Salman, he says, “Salman sir is my lucky charm. He told me not to worry. He’s the most genuine guy I’ve met in my life. There’s no bigger achievement than him coming forward to help you (smiles).”
