‘I’MWORRIED ABOUTTHE FINANCIAL HEALTH OF OURNATION’
Says the actor who stresses on how daily wage earners are bearing the brunt of the shutdown; adds that it will change our lifestyle for the better

Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya is making the most of her time while social distancing due to the lockdown owing to the outbreak of Covid-19. She is happy to be pursuing her hobbies that her work schedule otherwise does not permit her to do.
The Banoo Main Teri Dulhann actor says that she is happy to be spending quality time with her husband, actor Vivek Dahiya. Giving us a glimpse into a day in her life as she practices quarantine away from the hustle, she shares, “There’s a lot to do when indoors besides watching television. This is the time to take out unread books off the shelf, ingest them and digest them. Cooking is not one of my hobbies, but thanks to coronavirus, I am getting a chance to try my hands at it. I’m more of a home maker and manager, looking after grocery stocks, housekeeping and cleanliness with equal and active participation from Vivek.”
Stressing on how a lockdown is the need of the hour, Dahiya comments,
“The earth must be thanking us. It finally must be breathing a sigh of relief. A forced slowing down is good for all. Everyone wants everything instantly today. Changes such as looking beyond a regular lifestyle, dealing with lesser comfort, or adjusting will help us evolve.”
She says that the outbreak has given a severe blow to the national economy. She elaborates, “I’m worried about the financial health of our nation. Shop keepers have to keep paying rents while keeping their shops shut, daily wage workers are unemployed and professionals are sitting at home paying taxes, groceries at home have to be replenished and regular bills have to be paid. Pockets are getting empty and no reliefs have been assured by the higher authorities. It’s a worrying situation. If anything, this may definitely cause a decline in mental health
for all.”
