‘Wrong to ostracise friends and neighbours having Covid
An inadvertent break turned out to be a three year hiatus for Minissha Lamba. The actor, who was last seen on the screen in 2018, says, “I kept waiting for a project that’s right for me. And suddenly, it turned into two years. That’s when I thought if I’ve waited for so long, I might as well wait a little longer.”
As she waits for a project that creatively satisfies her, she reveals that she’s keen on venturing into the OTT space. “Doing web series is definitely on the cards. I’ve been reading a few scripts. I’ve been on video calls with directors and writers. I’m just waiting for something interesting to come my way so that I can dive into it,” Lamba shares.
While she has been away, the entertainment industry has witnessed a drastic change. Talking about the OTT boom, the Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) actor says, ”The infrastructure of entertainment has completely changed. The blueprint has become different. Who would’ve thought five years ago that the prime source of entertainment would be us sitting at home and just clicking buttons on a streaming service!” she remarks.
With the recent spike in Covid-19 cases, she points out that though it’s important to adhere to social distancing norms, one should be compassionate to those tests positive. “It’s wrong to ostracise your friends and neighbours who’ve Covid. But we shouldn’t mix social distancing with ostracisation. If someone is alone, they need to be given food and other essential things during their isolation,” Lamba concludes.
