Face massage tools are the newest craze in the world of beauty. With work from home schedules allowing ample time to pamper oneself, these beauty tools have gained a lot of popularity in the last few months.

From simple tools, handmade from some of the finest stones to other new age electronic tools that are taking the market by storm, options abound for those who want to add these tools into their beauty regimen. From ice rollers and jade rollers to precious metals, one can take one’s pick after consulting a skin expert.

Brands are experimenting with multiple materials to give the ever so exhausted, Netflix n Chill consumer, regimens that help relax and rewind. “The face massaging tools help make the face radiant, toned and sculpted. No amount of creams, serums and chemical exfoliation can mimic the glow of a well massaged face,” says Aastha Aggarwal, beauty expert.

Face message tools are more effective than hand massage, as they stimulate the facial muscles and assist in lymphatic drainage, say experts. When regularly used, massages can go a long way in improving skin health. “A roller, whether manual or electric comes with different stones depending on that skin type,” says Vibhuti Arora, face yoga and face tools master.

A roller is great for better product absorption and it helps in reducing morning puffiness, calming inflammation and reducing acne as well. “I recommend using a roller every day for better results. They help in lymphatic drainage and massaging in the right direction boosts the blood circulation. It can also help in getting rid of double chin along with few face yoga techniques,” says makeup expert Shreya Chadha.

For a beginner, experts usually recommend easy-to-use tools such as ice rollers, jade rollers or 24k face lift massager. Once a person has used these tools and achieved some results, experts may recommend more advance level home use tools. Aggarwal says, “The Ayurvedaapproved kansa wand with its ability to restore your skin’s delicate pH balance has also shown results in contouring and softening age lines for a natural facelift.” According to ancient Ayurveda texts, the use of kansa metal helps in balancing your doshas (the three biological energies present in the body – Pitta, Kapha, Vata). The leadfree metal is a skin-investment for glowing skin,” adds Aggarwal.

Gua Sha, the traditional Chinese healing method has also

A massage roller aids in lymphatic drainage to increase the skin’s ability to soak up the serum gained popularity. It uses massage tools made of different stones and shapes that help sculpt the face. “One can see naturally contoured cheeks, reduced double chin fat and a more defined jaw line after regular use. A Gua Sha is a stronger tool than a roller and hence the recommended usage is three times a week,” says Arora.

There are Gua Shas and rollers made of stones such as rose quartz, green jade and amethyst. When using such massage tools, always use a face oil, moisturiser or serum best suited for your skin. Experts caution that else you might end up causing a bruise due to the friction.
