Retro rocks at Paris Fashion Week
The vibrant ‘90s and ‘80s dominated the ramp at the Paris Fashion Week 2022 - Spring/ Summer that ended last week along with cuts that showed off toned bodies, signalling that it is time to get out of wardrobe lethargy induced by the pandemic. Brands showcased cheerful, bold colours and sculptural silhouettes. Despite a bit of whimsy, the looks were realistic and wearable. Silk coats, crop tops, slip dresses and overalls celebrated nostalgia.
In a post-pandemic world, old seems to be the new. With people reluctant to shell out big money on luxury fashion, the preowned fashion space is fast expanding in India. Poshmark, a US social commerce marketplace for buying and selling both used and new clothes and accessories is the latest entrant in the pre-owned fashion industry in the country. It will make owning luxury fashion items a reality for those who can’t afford the brands and also help boost sustainable fashion.
