LEAVE A TRAIL ACE THE STYLE: BIG, BIG, BIG

Go big or go home holds true in Emily Cooper’s context (played by Lily Collins). What began as an adventure for the marketing executive o f in Chicago, shifting to Paris season 1, only gets grander in season 2. In episode 3, Emily is seen wearing a a strapless black dress with a big pink bow layered with printed green shrug, on her birthday. Taking the glam quotient up a notch, she s, opted for clashing red lip sleek ponytail, diamond and pearl earrings for a grand entrance.

ACE THE STYLE:

of While choosing the dress your dream on your special day, think big, literally! Dresses with big sleeves, voluminous hems or accessories such as big belts, sunglasses and hairbands are glam worldapproved.

Need outfit inspiration for another special day? Here it is! Channelling her inner princess, Emily is seen wearing a red tulle dress with statement sleeves and a long yet manageable train, with a plunging neckline. For this look, she kept her hairdo neat and opted for shoes with minor bow detailing.

Tulle dresses in bold as well as pastel colours, with long trails, are the flavour of the season. Choose a dress either in red, lilac, pink or even blue for a stunning look.

BLAZER DRESS AND BOLD PANTSUIT

We’ve read about how many are replacing figure-hugging blazers with oversized versions, but styling a blazer as a dress is something only Camille (played by Camille Razat) is capable of doing. The French fashionista, daughter of successful French champagne company owners, opted for a head-to-toe white ensemble, shoes with sparkle, coloured eye wear and a wicker bag. She also manages to marry formal with casual effortlessly (right) in a bright orange pantsuit, styled with a hat.

ACE THE STYLE: ACE THE STYLE:

Clubbing several statement pieces can be a tad tricky for beginners. To road test the trend, go monochrome and add pleasantly distracting pieces such as a pair of pink big cat-eyed glasses, to bring back vintage charm. And don’t shy away from statement shoes. Also, if you are into pantsuits, ditch the regular beige, pastel ones and opt for bright hues instead for a more fun look.

BELOVED MINI SKIRTS

With the re-emergence of Y2K trends, mini skirts are back on the radar, and who better to take style inspo from than our very own Emily! Styling a classic tweed skirt that has vintage gold buttons with her red cold-shoulder top with puffed sleeves and frills, Emily is acing the maximalist aesthetic without making it look gaudy. The teeny boxy handbag has our hearts!

Today, mini skirts are available in various colours, prints, textures and styles. While opting for a tone-ontone ensemble, choose a top and skirt in slightly matching hues. Don’t think twice before wearing a bold accessory to add just the right amount of drama to your look.

While the fashion book taught us to play with a maximum of four colours in an outfit, Emily seems to be defying all rules here, emerging as a fashionista at the end of it. Giving a fresh spin to the top and skirt duo, she decided to go all rainbow, looking bright as a day. Those lilac knee-high boots are to die for!

ACE THE STYLE:

With this look, there is no rule except one — go all out! Experiment with all those fun pieces available in your wardrobe, mix and match prints and colours to come up with a wellcoordinated look. Don’t shy away from throwing in a piece or two of your statement accessories.

SHEER ME ON! ACE THE STYLE: FRINGES

Another beloved character of the series and Emily’s confidante is Mindy Chen (right, played by Ashley Park). A resident of Paris who originally is from Shanghai, Mindy is known for her daring personality and style. Here, she choses to be a true head turner with her bright yellow fringed thigh-high boots. And instead of opting for a plain T-shirt or a button down shirt, she went for a white balloon off-shoulder top and denim shorts.

ACE THE STYLE:

Bring out the fun side to your personality with your ensemble. Opt for either a pair of statement fringed shoes, a bag or even a dress, and let those babies do the talking.

In yet another bold avatar, Mindy decided to go all sheer with a black bodysuit. She went a step ahead and paired it with animal print-like knee-length high-heel boots, a chunky gold neckpiece, hoop danglers, shiny gloves and a chic hairdo.

Not for the faint-hearted, this look is for the extra someone(s). Although for starters, you can layer your sheer bodysuit with a faux fur long overcoat for a comfortable yet ultra-rich look.
