Beat the doomsday blues

The members get talking about the rumoured doomsday and creating a niche for metal in the city.

When and how did the band come together?

Gavin and Moses were members of the school band in Don Bosco School, Alaknanda. Moses started Kraken as an instrumental project and we decided to join him in June this year. The band is named after the mythical Nordic monster — Kraken. The beast inspires us to keep our sound brutal and potent.

Most of our compositions are done at the lead guitarist’s house. But for us, jam pads are the best places to test drive our sound.

Would you say Delhi inspires artists?

You can write music anywhere as long as you are able to lose yourself in your craft. Delhi oozes music from every nook and cranny.

There has been a drastic change in Delhi’s music scene lately. There are more opportunities cropping up for exploring various genres.

If you could play at any gig in the world, it would be...

It’ll be the Download Festival. At home, it definitely has to be NH7 Black Rock Arena.
