‘Dancing is tougher than wrestling’

Wrestler Sangram Singh (left) may have mastered the moves in wrestling, but he confesses that he is struggling to pick up dance steps from his teacher. Singh, who with his girlfriend, actor Payal Rohatgi will be participating in a dance reality show says, “I can hardly move to the tunes of the songs. Dancing is far more difficult that wrestling. I am falling and hurting myself far more times during the dance rehearsals than I do in a wrestling bout.” Asked if he is nervous that he may be disqualified in early rounds of the show because of his limited dancing skills, and he shares that he agreed to sign up for this show only because there are also tasks to be undertaken. “The first time I was asked to participate in a dance reality show, I immediately said no because I have two left feet. It is only when the channel people told me that there were points to be earned for other tasks on the show, that I agreed. Also, Payal pushed me to accept the offer saying that it would give us a chance to be on the same show,” he says. In fact, the two will be seen together on one show for the second time. They met on a show a couple of years back, and fell in love. So, is this show going to rekindle some of the old romance too, we ask. “In this format, we will be kept in separate houses. So, I won’t actually see Payal much, except for the rehearsals,” he adds.
