With the mission to train 8,000 girls in areas of health and safety, Select CITYWALK in association with Saket Police Station, has launched a Girl’s Safety Campaign – Say No To Fear, focusing on different aspects of a girl’s health and safety including first aid skills during medical emergencies, self-defence and regular health check-ups.

The event that celebrated the launch of the campaign saw girls from various schools of Saket participate in an interactive session with dignitaries such as commissioner, Delhi Police BS Bassi, joint commissioner, Delhi Police RS Krishnia and special commissioner, Delhi Police Vimla Mehra, among others. Speaking on the occasion, BS Bassi said, “While Delhi police does its best to resolve issues of women safety, which is the most perceptible security concern in the city, self defence makes the task a lot more simple. When our young generation learns self defence, we ensure safety, not only in the present times, but for many years to come. A habit of self defence education will be passed on the next generation, too, by these little girls, creating an activist culture in our society.”

Yogeshwar Sharma, executive director, Select CITYWALK says, “I along with Yograj Arora, Neeraj Ghei and Arjun Sharma, the directors of Select CITYWALK believe that any shopping centre is a micro cause of a society and thus it is a good platform for any social issue. Women empowerment as a cause is very close to our management so, we approached Delhi Police and they were very happy to join hands with us. Each girl associated with Say No to Fear will become a central pillar of a family in future, so if this is a seed nurtured properly it will definitely bring a lot of good fruits.”
