MEET BROTHERS RELY ON THE ART OF COMMUNICATION

- Harmeet Singh, musician Yashika Mathur yashika.mathur@hindustantimes.com

Brothers Harmeet Singh (above left) and Manmeet Singh (above right) have been rocking the charts with their songs such as Baby Doll, Boss and Chitiya Kalaiya, and they have a simple mantra behind their success. Talking about tuning with each other, Manmeet says: “It’s usually is a problem when two people meet in their early 20s, 30s or late 30s, and they decide to make music together. We are brothers. All answers lie in this simple thing we call communication. We communicate with each other and there is a way to communicate, and we have understood that. Sometimes we do agree to disagree, and I think that is very important as long as it is in the right manner.”

Competition is not a problem for the fun-loving music directors. “There is only competition with ourselves, and the proof of that is that we have collaborated with other musicians on same song... Our competition is centered arounnd how to make our own music better. We are well read people and we know that competition can only distract people. Focus on your own work and make better songs rather focussing on others’ work,” Harmeet says. The year 2014 proved to be really lucky for the brothers and they promise that 2015 is only going to get better.

“We are experimenting with every possible genre that is out there in music this year. Last year, we had only four songs but this year, we have about 40 songs!” Manmeet said.
