The Capital is set to play host to an event that will highlight the varied contributions to Indian literature and culture by Urdu poet Nida Fazli. To start on June 14, the event, titled Adabi Cocktail, will see a confluence of literature, art and music.

The first chapter of the series will be based on the works of Fazli, which will include a painting exhibition that will see renowned painter Geeta Dass recreating Fazli’s poems on canvas. There will also be a recitation session by theatre, film and television actor Tom Alter and a musical rendition of poetry by the young and talented singer and composer Jazim Sharma, who will be joined by singers Parul Mishra and Malti Joshi.

Talking about the event, Atul Gangwar, the brain behind the event, says, “While we do considerable work in the professional audio-visual realm, we also realise our duty in giving back to the field of creative art, including literature, music and art. And hence, from time to time, we organise events that are purely creative in nature that explore new vistas to serve and benefit the larger interest of art and cultural promotion.”

Mukesh Gupta, of the PHD Chamber of Commerce, a body that is also involved in organising the event adds, “The coming together of these creative and great artists to remember the works of Nida Fazli is indeed a great occasion.” The event will be held at Mavlankar Hall in Sansad Marg Area.
