Actor Manoj Bajpai (right), who has turned producer with his upcoming film that stars actor Tabu, says that he wants to help filmmakers who are unable to get funds for their films. “As a production house, we will be focusing on projects that have no backing. I am not a compulsive producer who has to produce three to four films a year. I want to be part of projects that I believe in,” he says.

The 46-year-old adds that he will not look at the commercial viability of films while deciding which projects to produce. “My focus will always be on the script rather than other things. And whoever talks about the commercial viability of a project at the script stage is very naive. Most films which do well, never seem commercially viable at that stage,” he says.

Meanwhile, Manoj, who is known for his roles in films such as Bandit Queen (1994) and Rajneeti (2010), has had his share of ups and downs in his career. However, the actor says that it is very important to not let this get to you. “There are bad patches in everyone’s career, but you must not stop. The momentum has to continue. You cannot let this affect you,” he says.

The Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) actor, who has been in the industry for more than two decades now, says that filmmakers need to work on the content of films. “We need to focus on stronger content. Once we see that something works, we start imitating that. I feel that the focus has to be on different kinds of films and subjects,” he says.
