After 12 years in Bollywood, actor Priyanka Chopra will now turn producer, and while her debut project, which was supposed to be directed by filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, hasn’t taken off, Priyanka has still not lost hope. “It’s very unfortunate. I love Madamji (her debut production), and it’s a story that needs to be told. I hope I will be able to make it at some point. In the meantime, because of my obeisance [towards production], I am producing, or rather working on a bunch of story ideas,” says Priyanka.

The actor tell us that she loves the script of her first production. “Right now, there is a time constraint. So, I can’t do the film, along with my other commitments. It just kept going back-and- forth, and then I got busy, and Madhur got caught up with Calendar Girls (his upcoming film). But I am dying to work with him,” she says. There was news that Priyanka might produce a film for her cousin, actor Parineeti Chopra. But the 32-year-old laughs it off: “I don’t know where such rumours come from. We haven’t approached a single actor. We are still working on the script. So, how can we approach anyone?”

PeeCee, who will soon leave for the US to shoot for her American TV show Quantico, was thrilled when she got to know that the promo of the show was screened during the final match of the North American Basketball League recently. “I had watched a few matches live, last year. I know the sport has a major following. So, to have my promo air during the finals was special for me,” she says.
