Bubbly, fun and refreshingly candid — that’s how actor Bhumi Pednekar, who was in the Capital to attend designer Vikas Bahl’s fashion show recently (left), comes across.

The Dum Laga Ke Haisha actor now looks nothing like her character in the film for which she had gained 15 kilos, as she has now managed to shed the extra kilos. Pednekar revealed that all the weight talk post her debut came as a surprise. “I wasn’t expecting my weight to become such a big issue; I was simply playing a character. The girl was supposed to be overweight so I just put on the kilos. To me, it wasn’t a big deal, but in India, it’s an everyday, household problem. People should let go of it. I think if you’re healthy physically and mentally, it doesn’t matter what shape or size you are. If you like the way you look, just enjoy it! When I was 90 kilos, I was still wearing whatever I liked,” Pedneker told us.

Going from the topic of weight to marriage, the actor also confirmed that she’s receiving ‘shaadi ka rishtas’ after the film. “I was shocked! I thought: just because I’m not wearing makeup and I am a certain way in the film, you guys want to marry me? But, I have to say, all the attention from my fans.. I really love it.”

Having recently been to Delhi, Pedneker loves the city’s cultural vibe. I love it because of all its history and rich culture. We miss that in Bombay.”
