The much awaited 'Flower Holi' bash at SGT university it turned out to be a marvellous hit among the students
The cultural extravaganza Holi Fest 2016 marked another indelible day in Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurgaon. The event was organised with a vision of filling its 60 acres of campus with colours of benevolence, joy of celebration, laughter and much more to make it the most memorable days of all for those who attended. Holi Fest in SGT, stands to be one of the most cherished celebrations of all its occasions and events, and is being celebrated since the time of its inception. Even this time no efforts were left in making it an outstanding experience in terms of enjoying the perfect blend of Braj Art and cultural celebration.
The event comprised of a grand
welcome of the guests with a Tilak ceremony followed by a welcome speech, an oration by the vice chancellor of the university and the lamp lighting ceremony. Various performances, such as Rajasthan's folk dance Ghoomar, Maharashtra's peppy Lavani, kept the audience entertained. The event saw dance performances based on Bollywood
A Kashmiri dance performance Holi songs and Radha-Krishna songs, along with Bollywood and classical fusion numbers.
The most awaited performance among the audience was Maharaas, which represented the divine beauty of Shri Krishna replicating himself into numerous avatars, to play Holi with his gopis. It was followed by the grand depiction of Braj art of Holi Celebration which included elements of four typical Braj Holi forms.
The Holi bash, which was hosted by the students from faculty of Engineering and
Technology and the Faculty of Commerce and Management, was enjoyed by over 3,000 people, an indication of its huge success.
