An afternoon to empower womanhood

On the afternoon of International Women’s Day, Amitabh Mishra, co-owner, Gatsby Kitchen and Bar, Greater Kailash-1 along with Bandana Sondhi hosted a cocktail brunch to celebrate the day and pamper the women, who have made a mark in their fields. Artists designers, theatre directors, and entrepreneurs were seen gracing the sunny afternoon; and keeping the Gatsby era in mind, an interesting dress code of hats, frills and pearls which reminded of the 1920s era was set.
The highpoints of the afternoon were summer signature cocktails, live salad and soup bars along with scrumptuous global appetisers. Pravesh Miglani, co-owner, Gatsby Kitchen and Bar said, “Everyday should be a celebration for womanhood and it gives me immense pleasure to be playing my part on the same.”
“Always apply coconut oil beneath your eyes. This allows to remove the colour easily and keeps the eyes and the area beneath it protected,” says Dr Ritika Sachdev, cornea, cataract and refractive surgery specialist. Also keep in mind to cover your eyes tightly when colour is being splashed around. “If you wear lenses, make sure you remove your lenses before stepping out to play Holi,” suggests Dr Ritika. If possible, protect your eyes with sunglasses or protective eye wear while playing.
“The most important thing to remember is to avoid touching your eyes or rubbing them as it may cause irritation or vision loss,” states Dr Ritika. In case colour enters your eyes, wash them immediately with clean water. “Don’t forget to tie your hair and use a cap to prevent coloured water dripping into your eyes,” advises Dr Ritika. This is one of the major reasons that can cause eye infections and allergies while playing Holi.
