Actor Manjari Fadnis (below) is a versatile person, who, apart from acting, is also fond of singing and learning new languages. The Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008) actor, who has already lent her voice to the song, Azhagana Neeyum, in the Tamil thriller Muthirai (2009) and has even sung a lullaby, Ore Nindya, in Warning (2013), is working on a few singles.

“I enjoy singing a lot and have been thinking of releasing singles for quite some time now. One of the songs is almost ready and I’m planning to release it as part of an album. Collaborating with musicians is also on my mind. I’m in talks with a few of them,” says Manjari, who is keen on doing more playbacks for films.

Talking about her other interest, Manjari says that she has always been drawn towards learning different languages. Having worked in Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films, the actor says that every time she acted in them, she made an effort to learn the basics of each of the languages to portray her character convincingly.

“I’ve done a Bengali film and many films down South. Each time I’ve worked on a new regional film, I’ve tried to pick up the language. I’ve also irritated assistant directors and dialogue writers by asking them to teach me the basics of the language. I’ve pushed them to help me learn the pronunciation and explain the meaning,” she says, adding, “I’ve learnt French and I want to learn another

foreign language.”
