‘To make a biopic on PV Sindhu is challenging’
Actor-turned-producer Sonu Sood (right), who is gearing up for his second production— a biopic on badminton player (inset), says that it is very challenging to produce a biopic of a 22-year-old.
“While writing a script, sometimes, you begin with a climax, then, a pre-climax and ultimately, a story is woven around it. So, sometimes you just focus on a climax and then build a story. But for me, it’s not the climax but the story, the journey which inspired me to make this film. And we are taking notes of all the people who thought that it is too early to make biopics on a 21-or 22-year-old, hence, not the right time,” says Sood.
He further adds, “I think, it’s more challenging for us to prove them wrong. The film will be something that will inspire people. Badminton is just the canvas of the film but the story is about the girl from a small town and how she achieved her goals.” He also says that the story will be inspirational and people will definitely connect with it.
Sood, who was last seen in the film Kung Fu Yoga along with Hollywood actor Jackie Chan, shares his experience of working with him. “Working with Chan was one of the most phenomenal experiences. He is not just the most grounded actor but he is the most grounded human being, I’ve ever seen,” he says.
Sood was recently trolled on the internet for the Azaan controversy created by singer Sonu Nigam, as people got confused between the two, targeting him. But Sood enjoyed it. “I was in Punjab and my friends called and told me about it.”
