Nakash doesn’t mind actors singing

Ever since reports surfaced that actor Sonakshi Sinha was chosen to perform at the opening act for Justin Bieber’s Mumbai concert, there has been a raging debate in the music industry. Many like Armaan Malik and Kailash Kher felt that a singer should get a chance to perform at a concert, instead of an actor. This also led to another question— are actors overshadowing singers today? However, singer Nakash

Aziz, (below) has a different opinion. “There is no problem if singers dance with actors, so if an actor sings, I see no harm in it either,” says Nakash.

In the past, actors like Parineeti Chopra and Alia Bhatt have sung in their films and Nakash feels that such talent should be encouraged. “Everyone should try singing. I think actors would really enjoy being singers too and they’d get more attention,” adds the singer who has sung numbers such as The Break up Song (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, 2016) Jabra (Fan, 2016), Saree Ka Fall Sa (R...Rajkumar 2013) and Tukur Tukur (2015).

Nakash who has worked with Pritam amd AR Rahman, feels that the right technique for singing is crucial. “Therefore, if actors want to sing, they should learn how to sing in pitch. They should feel good about it,” he says.
