HOLLYWOOD BOLLYWOOD ‘NEVER FELT NERVOUS FOR MY COMEBACK’
...says Ayesha Takia who has returned with a music video which deals with the subject of human trafficking
Actor Ayesha Takia (right) who took a sabbatical after embracing motherhood in 2013, is back in showbiz with a music video titled Zindagi Tujhse Kya Karen Shikvey. Unlike many actors who feel the pressure of seeking acceptance from the audience after a break, Ayesha says that such things were never on her mind.
“I’ve always been that kind of a person, even when I was working with two shifts a day. After finishing work, I would just pack up, go home and get disconnected from everything else. So, I never had that sense of nervousness or concerns that will people accept me or not,” says Ayesha.
The actor, who has worked in films such as Dor (2006), Wanted (2009), feels happy that she didn’t make a comeback with something frivolous and picked something that talks about an important issue — the subject of human trafficking. “As actors, we all have some responsibility about things that we promote. So I was sure that if I did anything again [on screen], it has to have some substance. And this video really excited me, as it tells a meaningful story,” adds Ayesha.
On whether there was any awkwardness when she faced the camera after such a long time, the actor says, “For a performer, being in the spotlight is like riding a bike. If you don’t do it for a long time, the moment you get back on track, you know how to do it.”
