HRITHIK SHOT BY HIS FAN
On World Photography Day today, Hrithik does an exclusive shoot for HT City with a visually-challenged photographer
Long photo shoots are a part and parcel of an actor’s life. But this is one that Hrithik Roshan will always cherish. The actor was photographed by an ardent fan, Charles Neves Rao, who is visually impaired. Hrithik, 43, shares what the hour-long shoot was like.
How was the experience?
I had only heard about such amazing stories [about blind photographers], so I was curious. It turned out to be a celebration of the human spirit. Shooting with Charles reaffirmed that if you are a true artist, you’ll have certain specialities.
What was the highlight?
It was interesting to see that a person, who has a handicap, doesn’t choose to see it as one, which is absolutely amazing. I could see that he was hesitant in the beginning and struggled a little bit, but the flow of the shoot was pleasurable.
After Kaabil (Hrithik’s character was blind), do you identify more with visually-challenged people?
It’s something I’ve an affinity with. It’s so instinctive that I wouldn’t credit it to any of my role or film. Nevertheless, I’m proud that through Kaabil I had a chance to give more exposure to the spirit and qualities of such incredible heroes who are all around us.
Talking to Charles, you said that if not an actor, you’d have become a photographer?
Yes, I capture my experiences in pictures and videos. When I travel, I shoot interesting frames, moments and angles. That really excites me.
