EVENT TRAVEL WELLNESS FOOD BEST FOOT FORWARD
A football match for kids, live musical performances, and lip-smacking milkshakes made for a perfect Saturday in Gurgaon
The kids in Gurgaon kicked off the weekend with great enthusiasm and zeal as a large number of children were seen participating in a friendly football match organised by SARE Homes on Saturday.
This initiative by SARE Homes, India’s premier FDIfunded developers with seven integrated township projects across the nation, and Hindustan Times Great Indian Football Action (HT GIFA) was aimed at recognising and developing budding talent amongst underprivileged kids and giving them an opportunity to play and put their best foot forward.
One of the participants, Subhash, who also scored three goals, says, “I have been practicing for a couple of days and I feel so proud that my team won. I will now continue playing football with my friends in the neighbourhood.” To cheer up the contestants and keep their spirits high, playback singer Shibani Kashyap performed on-stage to her melodious tunes and mingled with the kids on the ground. Shibani said, “I always do things that are cause-oriented because I feel we need to give love back to the society for the things that it has given to us. Our life has become so digital; we’re not stepping out of our homes and not being sporty enough these days, so I think this is a great initiative to urge people and children to come out and engage in outdoor games.”
Speaking about the match for the underprivileged children, Vineet Relia, managing director, SARE Homes, says, “SARE Homes has been working towards allround development for children. All projects by the company have been designed keeping in mind the fact that the presence and availability of playing spaces and active sports for children works wonders for their health, and also sharpens their minds and personalities”.
He adds, “As an ongoing activity, SARE Homes also provides a mobile crèche for children of the labour working at the sites with provisions for meals, stationery, books, and teaching staff.”
