Diwali is a time for celebrations. It’s also the time for binging and gorging on all the delicious goodies. But we don’t want our lovely, furry friends to feel left out when we’re chowing down on kaju katlis during a party, no? Well, city shops have come up with a brilliant solution — Diwali sweets for doggies! Yes, you read it right, your doggies can savour delicious Diwali goodies, too, now!

“We’ve made gujiyas, peanut butter pops (ladoos) and biscuits that your pets can munch on. We use safe ingredients that do not have sugar or anything that would harm your dog. These products are like any other dog food but are made especially in the spirit of Diwali so that one’s pets can be part of the family celebrations. There is a lot of demand for such treats as pet parents want their babies (pets) to feel special during the celebrations,” says Nayani Tandon, owner of Puppychino, a dog cafe. Customised doggy treats are available also at Doggie Dabbas, in Gurgaon. When it comes to adding to the festive spirit, Rashi Narang from Heads Up For Tails, has curated a special Diwali Wag Box — a box full of goodies for your pooch. “The Wag Box includes seven items like a natural toy, special Coconut Turmeric Chips, a festive bow tie, lavender oil, wipes, pawsome playing cards and doggy mithai in the shape of diyas, phooljhadis, poker cookies and laddoos. All the edibles are safe for consumption,” she says.
