When Balika Vadhu actor Avika Gor wanted to quit acting for direction

-

Actor Avika Gor, who shot to fame with the TV show Balika Vadhu, says there was a time when she wanted to quit acting and focus on directing films.

The actor took a break for some time, but not because she wasn’t getting offers.

“There were a few shows that I turned down, because I wasn’t ready to come back to TV. That was the biggest reason and not because the stories were bad. I had taken a break for a reason... to focus on filmmaking studies and making films,” she said.

“I was also travelling for festivals. I wanted to find out whether I wanted to act or not,” Avika added.

“I was so involved in direction at one point of time that I said ‘I don’t want to act. I am a director’. Now, I think that I can do both,” the 20year-old shared.

Avika and actor Manish Raisinghan had launched the poster of their short movie Ankahee Baatein at the 69th Cannes Film Festival’s Short Film Corner last year.

Besides Hindi films such as Morning Walk (2009) and Paathshala (2010), she has also worked in Telugu and Kannada films such as Uyyala Jampala (2013) and Care of Footpath 2 (2015).

Avika is playing a law student in an ongoing TV show.
