Wonder Woman 2 will be ‘totally different’ from first film
Director Patty Jenkins’ debut superhero movie, Wonder Woman, did ‘wonders’ at the box office worldwide. That we should see a sequel soon is a given. And Jenkins, 46, has said that part two would be very different.
Contactmusic.com reports that following months of negotiations, Jenkins is now totally committed to the Wonder Woman sequel. And she has teased that it’s going to be so different, it won’t even feel like a sequel.
In a recent interview, Jenkins said, “We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same things that we love, but [Wonder Woman 2] is its own movie completely, so it’s not ‘two’ to us. It’s an entirely new adventure together that we couldn’t be luckier to do.”
Jenkins also revealed that the creative team was working hard to include Lynda Carter, the actor who was television’s original Wonder Woman (19751979), in the new film.
“We’ll see. Lynda is one of the dearest people to us, has been a great mentor and dear friend. And we actually desperately tried to get her in the first one and we had the scheduling that couldn’t work, so she’s always been a part of our Wonder Woman family. We won’t say anything yet... but we certainly... there’s no lack of trying,” noted Jenkins.
The sequel is set to hit the theatres on November 1, 2019. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman has also been seen in the Justice League film.
