This show will see professional and home chefs clash in the kitchen
Calling out to all food lovers and home chefs, Zee Café is all set to bring a brand-new cooking series – The Chefs’ Line. The idea of the show comes from the fact that in every restaurant kitchen, there exists The Chefs’ Line starting from the Apprentice Chef, way up to the Head Chef.
This show is the ultimate competition wherein home chefs will battle against culinary professionals. Each week, four amateur home cooks will try and out cook an entire Chefs’ Line, from one of Australia’s favourite restaurants, in the hopes that their passion will prevail over the profession.
Judging the exquisite dishes, will be three of Australia’s hottest culinary stars: internationally renowned Executive Chef Dan Hong, popular food writer Melissa Leong and Australia’s most famous indigenous chef, Mark Olive. Speaking about the USP of the show, Hong says, “It’s all about the food! We are celebrating a different cuisine every week”. Leong adds, “From Chinese and Thai to Japanese and Indian, we had so much fun celebrating the universal connection that food brings to the table. What sets The Chef ’s Line apart is a focus on fun, sharing authentic knowledge and the sheer joy of eating and sharing food with people you love. “
To find out who triumphs in the battle of passion against profession, tune in to The Chef ’s Line starting tonight, weeknights at 9pm on Zee Café.
THE CHEF’S LINE IS THE ULTIMATE BATTLE OF HOME COOKS WITH PROFESSIONAL CHEFS — A ONE-OF-A-KIND REALITY TV SHOW — THAT STARTS TONIGHT
The new show on Zee Café, The Chef ’s Line is an ultimate competition show wherein home chefs will battle against culinary professionals. Moving up the Chef ’s line is any aspiring chef ’s ultimate objective. On his own experience of moving up the Chef ’s line, Dan Hong says, “It wasn’t easy. Long hours, working and getting yelled at when everybody is partying. But I am living proof that if you work hard, you will be rewarded.”
Speaking about the contestants on the show he adds, “The contestants were amazing and very passionate. A lot of the contestants had their heritage as their lethal weapon which in my opinion was a major advantage over the chefs with cuisines like Lebanese, Indian and African food. One contestant during Indian week was just so passionate, and it resonated in her cooking.”
The show talks about 13 different world cuisines. When asked about the importance of versatility in cooking, Melissa Leong answered, “Versatility, as well as variety, as they say, are the spices of life! A great cook or chef uses what they have at their disposal and to be versatile is to show your capability and understanding. The only must-haves when it came to the cooks and chefs on The Chefs’ Line, was a good sporting attitude, a sense of humour and the ability to communicate their love of food through their cooking and the energy they bring to the show.”
According to Leong, the USP of the show is the celebration of the universal connection that food brings to the table.
She says, “There’s no crazy scripted drama, just real people who love to cook and are passionate enough to show the world what they can do. Professional or home cook, the joy of cooking and eating is universal.”
Sharing his views, Mark Olive says, “I love the diversity of regional delicacies that India offers and will be experimenting fusing Australian and Indian flavours together.”
I’m very excited to see The Chefs’ Line being shown in India. Indian cuisine was one of the featured episodes.
