Eating out gets a healthy spin
With people becoming more health conscious, restaurants have begun to serve dishes with healthy ingredients. These dishes offer wholesome goodness as it is not just good on nutrient value but also on taste, say experts.
Here are some healthy ingredients that restaurants have started using in their dishes:
QUINOA
This seed belongs to the spinach family. It’s also called a pseudo-cereal. Quinoa is rich in protein and nutrients such as magnesium, dietary fibre and vitamin B. An alternative to rice, it is a good source of antioxidants.
KALE
This veggie is high on fibre, low on calorie and has no fat. It can be added to pasta, green smoothies or can be simply tossed in a salad.
CHIA SEEDS
These are a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, iron, and calcium. These seeds are added to smoothies or yogurt.
BEETROOTS
This vegetable contains nutrients that help lower your blood pressure, fight cancer and boost your stamina. It’s a good source of iron but is often ignored due to its peculiar taste. Beetroots can be added to salads or you could even add them to your chapati dough.
NUTS
They are counted as good fats and help in lowering the cholesterol level. You can make a nutty trail mix or add them to your stir-fry.
