DAREDEVILS’ DAY OUT AT THE GOLF COURSE
The second edition of the DD-Crest Celebrity Golf Tournament was recently hosted at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram. This annual get-together of the cricketers of Delhi Daredevils (DD) and the best amateur and professional golfers in the National Capital Region is a much sought after event. This edition, just like the last one, witnessed a high profile turn-out. Among those who were present included former Indian cricketer Murali Kartik, alongside four-time World champion in Junior golf, Shubham Jaglan and several other golfers from the corporate world, like Amit Luthra, who is an Arjuna Awardee and Asian Games Gold medallist; executive director, HT Media, Debabrata Mukherjee; director, Hero Cycles, Abhishek Munjal; director, Religare, Amarjeet Arora; MD, Lakeforest Wines, Neeraj Sachdeva, and AVP, DLF Golf Resorts, Vishal Bharti, among others.
From the DD team, head coach Ricky Ponting, bowling coach James Hopes, allrounders Glenn Maxwell and Daniel Christian, openers Jason Roy and Colin Munro, fast bowlers Liam Plunkett and Trent Boult, and DD sensation Rishabh Pant turned out to play at the picturesque golf course. The Golf Club has 18 holes Championship Golf Course, designed by Gary Player, and the original 9-hole course designed by Arnold Palmer.
The tourney later progressed into an exhilarating party for the DD members, hosted by The Crest Clubhouse at Park Drive, DLF5. Those who were present include DD Captain Shreyas Iyer, Abhishek Sharma, Avesh Khan, Junior Daala, Gautam Gambhir, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Sandeep Lamichhane, Amit Mishra, Vijay Shankar, Prithvi Shaw and Ponting.
The team grooved to the beats of live music. Also, stand-up comedian Jeeveshu Ahluwalia enthralled all with his funny anecdotes.
