Newly single Ssharad goes on a solo vacation

- Shreya Mukherjee

After his TV show Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki came to an end, actor Ssharad Malhotra decided to take a vacation. And, his break-up with actor Pooja Bisht is among the factors that motivated him to go on a solo trip — his first ever — “to rediscover” himself. He went on an eight-day trip to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.

What’s his take on travelling to one of the most romantic destinations — Paris? “I needed this break. I wanted to romance myself, for a change. And the new thing that I learned about myself during my first solo trip is that I am an amazing company… it also helped me understand a lot of things.”

Sharing details about his travel, the actor says that he had wonderful time the day he visited the Eiffel Tower. He also visited Disneyland, Amsterdam’s famous red light district, and other such tourist spots. And, the three things that the actor carried with himself were, his “wallet, watch, and self-esteem”. To sum up the experience, he adds, “It was a rejuvenating.”

“There can be nothing more important for an actor who works throughout the day — I rediscovered myself, after so many years. I also happened to visit the red light district of Amsterdam, which is apparently very famous. It was an eye-opener for me. There, I saw women in small cabins, ready to be picked for some amount. It was very shocking and overwhelming at the same time. People in Amsterdam respect women a lot and prostitution there is seen not just as prostitution but is respected a lot. It is regarded as a good profession,” says the actor, known for his shows, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap.

Where does he wish to travel next? “My next destination will definitely be the beaches, probably Bali or Maldives,” says the actor.
