‘ACCOMPANIED DAD TO SETS’
Siddhanth Kapoor talks about filmi dinner table discussions at the Kapoor household, his upcoming war drama movie and shooting in extreme weather
Actor Siddhanth Kapoor — son of actor Shakti Kapoor and brother of actor Shraddha Kapoor — is enjoying a good phase in his career, with the multistarrer movie Paltan lined up for release. But not many people know that he started his acting career with Judwaa (1997), playing his dad’s character’s younger version.
About growing up in a filmi household, he shares, “I always wanted to become an actor. As a child, I would accompany dad to all his shoots. I learnt everything there. Then I assisted Priyadarshan (director) on a number of films. That’s how it all started.”
Ask him if films take the centrestage at dinner table discussions in the Kapoor household, he laughs, “We do discuss, but we consciously make an effort to keep films away most of the time, and talk about other normal things, but end mein filmi discussions hi ho jate hain!”
Sharing about his experience shooting for Paltan, a war drama, directed by JP Dutta, he says, “I play a havaldar, and handle all the communications since the character is from the intelligence (department).”
He adds,“Also, basically everything was difficult. The weather was the most difficult thing since it would change in an instant.”
However, it was his costars, including Sonu Sood, Suniel Shetty and Arjun Rampal, who all made it easy. “The mahaul was nice since my co-stars were really good,” Sidhhanth signs off.
We [family members] consciously make an effort to keep films away... and talk about other normal things, but end mein filmi discussions hi ho jate hain!
