American actor Mark Wahlberg’s daily schedule has got social media talking. Wahlberg, one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood, recently shared on his Instragram stories, what’s a typical day like in his life. The actor wakes up at 2.30am in the morning, works out, plays golf, eats small meals, seven times a day, and after wrapping work, hits the bed by 7.30pm after an invigorating evening work out and early dinner. And, in the middle of all this; he also takes out the time to pray.

Social media users were taken by surprise by the actor’s almost superman approach to his life, admiring and trolling him in equal proportion. Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds led the troll army from the front by sharing his own sarcastic daily routine (At 10am, he brainstorms world peace and from 1am to 7pm, he looks for a new hairstyle).

Trolls may have fun at Wahlberg’s expense but he isn’t the only one who believes in rising early and going to bed early for a healthy, wealthy and wise life. Professional wrestler turned actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, gets up at 4am in the morning for a rigorous workout. He believes that it gives him ‘an edge and an anchor for an opportunity for success’. Closer home, actor Akshay Kumar also swears by waking up as early as 4.30 am, having an early dinner by 7pm and hitting the bed by 9pm.

Experts say such a routine has its definite upside. “Waking up early allows you to manage your time in a much more productive and creative way. It also allows you to take out more time for your family and for the things that matter to you like health and fitness,” says Deepak Pal, lifestyle coach. Feeling inspired? You can’t switch over to such a routine overnight, if you have been a night owl all your life, say experts. “These celebs have conditioned their bodies over the years. You need to slowly change your sleeping pattern and timing. Also, these celebs take power naps during the day to complete their sleep, which may not be possible for those in a 10am to 6pm job,” says Amaresh Ojha, fitness expert.

Try and get at least seven hours of interrupted sleep, says Dr. Shilpa Sharma, sleep expert. “What time you sleep doesn’t matter much if you are able to get interrupted your sleep,” she says.
