‘ANURAG AND VIKRAM ARE OPEN TO INPUTS’
Actor Neeraj Kabi says that working with the fi l mmakers in a web series has been a treat
Neeraj Kabi as DCP Parulkar in Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane’s Sacred Games caught attention, both for his performance and for portraying one of the important links in the plot.
The actor is obviously happy with the feedback, and says that the experience of working with the directors in the web series was a delight.
Fondly talking about the two, he says, “Anurag brings in a lot of energy on the set, keeps all his actors on the edge and does a lot of improvisation. On the other hand, Vikram is always prepared while shooting and expects the same from his actors. Both of them are open to experimentation and inputs from the actors they are working with.”
Kabi goes on to reveal the mannerisms of the two directors. “Anurag would smile, and jump with joy, while Vikram remains quiet and talks only when required,” says Neeraj, who is reportedly part of the second season as well.
Sharing an anecdote from the first season, Kabi says that once he suggested an alternative way to shoot a particular scene and Anurag decided to incorporate the same. “It’s the scene where Parulkar (Neeraj) is hitting Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) in the jail. After our performance, he started jumping like a kid to show his happiness. It was encouraging,” he says.
The actor shares that he never expected such a positive feedback for his performance. “I still get messages from fans telling me how they liked my character, whether his back story will be shown in the coming season, etc. I feel over the moon with such positive reaction,” he signs off.
