GLIMPSES OF THE INCREDIBLE IN INDIA

If you’ve crossed the Rajpath lawns and wondered what all the decorations and colours are all about, but still haven’t got a chance to visit, you’re missing out on something cool. What you see is just one of the venues of the second Paryatan Parv being hosted in the Capital (and around the country in various states).
Focusing on India’s cultural diversity and promoting ‘tourism for all’, 32 states and Union Territories, along with different government departments, have collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism to organise the event.
With over 3,000 activities, the ongoing celebration will last for 12 days. Besides the Rajpath lawns, the parv has a lot of other venues across the city, too, such as New Delhi Railway Station, Jamia Millia Islamia, Red Fort, and Sarojini Nagar.
So what’s in store for you when you visit the Rajpath lawns? You can check out 18 theme-based pavilions set up by different states, gorge on regional cuisine at 54 food stalls, shop your heart out at the craft bazaar, and witness the diversity of our country through performances, exhibitions, and more.
“The second edition of Paryatan Parv is being organised with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism and reinforcing the principle of Tourism for All in the country,” said Rashmi Verma, secretary, Ministry of Tourism. “Many countries organise travel marts and the industry insiders in India were demanding for a similar mart. This is for the first time that such an event is being organised in the country,” she says.
